What do I seee in that article?
I see that the cost for the SAN is higher (than it could have been) because they selected a pretty expensive platform. A certain storage company of my aquaintance would be even cheaper. Go SAN.
I see that they (deliberately) left out such things as de-duplication. A certain storage company of my aquaintance would be even cheaper. Go SAN.
I see that the discussion left out certain key features that optimize space consumed in the data protection sphere. A certain storage company of my aquaintance would be even cheaper. Go SAN.
Whilst it's natural that I would find this kind of stuff interesting the amusing part to me was the fact that I just constructed an identical TCO graph as part of a 150k seat project I'm helping out on.
