Mr Arnold now possesses a valid Pennsylvania driving license. I figured it was time to get one since the DVLA informed me that not being a UK resident invalidated my entitlement to a pink driving license.
It took six minutes. The test was to pull away from the kerb, turn two corners, parallel park in a space 24 feet by 8 feet, drive off, make three left turns and park up. I was allowed to make three forward and reverse movements to properly parallel park. They have poles to mark where to start the inwards turn and three lines on the kerb to know where to put opposite lock on. Shocking really.
Now you know why the standard of driving in America is so appallingly low.
